Richard (J.R.) McDermott joined Evercore Wealth Management as a senior consultant in 2024, working with the Florida offices in developing client relationships in the Southeast. He is based in Vero Beach and New York. J.R. previously worked as a lead fixed income underwriter at Jefferies Financial Group and, earlier, at Morgan Stanley.

J.R. earned his B.S. from Skidmore College. He is a member of the Eagle Society at the Cleveland Clinic Indian River Foundation in Vero Beach, Florida, and the former Treasurer of the Robert C. Leverich Scholarship Fund.
